Elle gracefully moved forward. Her long flowing dress wrapped around her like the ashy remnants of a dying hearth. Her raven black hair whipped back and forth like wispy tendrils of death’s embrace. She looked around for him, for she knew this day was a long time coming. Her blazing orange eyes darted back and forth about her surroundings until they fixated on a familiar glowing figure slowly, but purposefully approaching.
Luke’s armor shone brilliantly in the semi-darkness of the approaching dawn. His steps were calculated his gaze unmistakable. He stabbed a finger in the air towards Elle.
“You can’t keep them enslaved like this!” Luke shouted. “They have minds of their own.” His eyes did not divert from hers, Elle in turn held her ground and with a slowly forming smirk as her words poured out like honey.
“Without control, without guidance, and without purpose these fragile mortals will perish by their own hands.” She briefly slipped her gaze to the slowly forming crowd below. “I was put here to prevent that from happening and under my direction, and only my direction, all shall find peace under my wings.”
Luke laughed bitterly and shook his head ever so slightly. “Peace.” He spat the word out like a bad taste in his mouth. “You call imprisonment peace?” He slowly paced back and forth studying earth beneath him, carefully choosing his next words. "You have a warped sense of serenity, Elle." he said, "One in which I will no longer take part in." Luke swiftly turned around and walked away from Elle.
“You would leave me, just like that?” she said quickly, with no hint of sorrow.
“You have left me with no choice, and I will stop at nothing to free those you have imprisoned with your so called salvation.” Luke looked to the crowd. “Are any of you with me?”
To Elle’s surprise, a third of her creations turned their backs on her and began to walk away with Luke. His armor seemed to intensify in brilliance the closer he drew to the horizon.
“He brings the light!” one mortal exclaimed upon looking at him and his army.
“Nonsense!” Elle shouted. “I am the light!” Her voice resonated and carried among the crowd, all coward in the power it exudes. Her eyes burned like little suns. The mortals began to worship her and chant “Elle is the Light.”
Elle took and seat and covered her face to hide her sorrow. He is gone she thought to herself. He is really gone.
As if reading her mind a young mortal asks, “Where is Luke?”
Her face replaces sorrow to anger. “You mean the liar, The deceiver,” she says venomously. she waits momentarily and her expression slightly softens before she says “Luke is so far.”
Over the ages, Elle took on many names, but one name her people came to know her as remained true to her nature. El-Shaddai or more commonly known as "The Destroyer". Luke took on even more infamous names throughout time as the great deceiver, but Elle's last words resounded beyond the testament of time "Luke is so far..." later to be known as Lucifer.
Thus, a schism was formed between the two most powerful entities on earth Elle “The Destroyer” and Luke “The Light Bringer”.
